Product Description
Up for grabs is a lovely well built vintage track frame of unknown origins. It is most certainly a high quality lugged steel frame built for serious racing. It has been repainted, and has no identifying markings. It comes with a 1st gen Campagnolo C-Record headset. Likely late 70's or early 80's.
So, what is it? Some characteristics of the frame point to OLMO, Guerciotti, or Pinarello, but I can't find a frame from any marquee matching this one. The clues: Going off the Italian BB threads and fork crown style, it is likely Italian. The long track dropouts traditionally indicate a fairly old build date from the 60's or earlier, although the Cinelli BB shell with the "Flying C" logo says it can be no older than 1978. Rear dropouts are unmarked, fork ends are Campagnolo. The stays are quite thin, indicating a top shelf model designed for racing. The seatstays attach directly to the back of the seat cluster, lacking the flattened sides effect many Italian models feature.
Size
This is roughly a Medium/Large. Top tube measures 54.5cm, seat tube at 55.5cm c-t. It will fit riders roughly 5ft 8 to 6ft tall.
- Seat tube: 55.5cm (c-t), 53.5cm (c-c)
- Top tube: 54.5cm
- Head tube: 148mm
Condition
Great used shape. Frame is straight, with NO bends, dents, cracks, or damage. Paint has a good number of chips and scratches. It looks nice enough for a backup bike, but you may wish to repaint it if you want to put pricey parts on it. C-Record headset spins super smooth, and has minimal marks.
