NOS(?) Very Early Formula Disc Brake Set: Red - 48mm/51mm Mounts - Vintage 1980's / 1990's
Here's one of Formula's first disc brakesets! This might be their first one from 1987, which was the world's first mtb hydraulic disc brake (details HERE, don't read the dumpster fire comments). This set appears identical to the 1987 "Formula" model, with the exception of a different decal on the front side which also lacks the adjustment bolt shown in the link.
This is a complete set, with two levers and two calipers. One of the calipers has an adapter mount for I.S. 51mm, the other has no adapter and is the FS 48mm mount. The front brake has the brake line but needs a bleed, the rear has no hose.
New old stock, with shop wear. I found these in a bike shop's back room, in a box full of never sold calipers. Since they were in there loose, they've acquired some scratches and decal wear here and there. The insides of the bar clamps show ZERO ano wear, and the brake pads show no use, giving me confidence these are in fact NOS.
