NOS Campagnolo Nuovo Record FRONT QR Skewer: Factory Bent(?) - Pre CPSC
There is speculation that just a few of these non-catalog item skewers were produced either as part of a pista group, or right at the transition from the pre-CPSC flat blade to the post CPSC curved blade skewers of the 1980's. There are ZERO signs that this was bent by a consumer, and there's also no proof that these came this way from the factory. Campy made a lot of variations to their parts that never made an appearance in a catalog, as prototypes, one-off custom parts or just "we wanna do something different". This thing is certainly a unique beast worthy of display or show.
The curve is quite a bit more drastic than the gentle curve of the 1978 to 1987 standard QR's. It's a perfect radius, and quite cool. Aside from the bend, this is exactly the same as a standard pre-1978 NR skewer. Same cam, same end nut, same font and background texture on the lever blade.
