NIB/NOS Campagnolo Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur: Pat 1973 - Original 1970's Box & Wax Paper Instructions
NOS Campy NR derailleurs are out there, but its uncommon to find an untouched one from the 1970's! You'll note the box is a bit lighter in color than the more common 1980's boxes. Both versions are tan, but the 1960's/1970's version is closer to a soft peach-tan whereas the 1980's version is a bold yellow-tan. The text at the bottom of the box top is different too, this older version only saying "Made in Italy Vicenza Italia" on two lines where the 80's box adds some words and is only on one line.
New old stock in original box, completely untouched. Complete with 1970's wax paper instruction sheet, and blue leather "wing" logo pivot bolt securing tab. When I acquired this mech, it had the factory Campy grease covering many of its surfaces. I cleaned a lot of this off so it presents better, but you can still see some present in the deep corners and in the crevices around the jockey wheel friction plates. Insides of cage plates and jockey wheels are mint and show no signs of a chain ever touching it. This one truly fits the original definition of "new old stock".
