Modolo Master Pro Brakeset: Calipers + Levers & Cables - Bronze Anodized - Ti Hardware - Black 919 Hoods (Near Mint++ Almost NOS)
The Master Pro was Modolo's top of the line race brakeset in the 1980's, above the Pro Super Prestige & Professional. They were famously ridden by Greg Lemond, Laurent Fignon, and Bernard Hinault. These represent a BIG step up from the Professional. The Professional model is quite traditional. Standard round profile calipers, alloy hardware, silver finish. The Master Pro has a radical almost delta shaped arm profile, anthracite hard anodized deep bronze finished arms & barrel adjusters, titanium pivot bolts, 24k gold flashed pivot washers to prevent corrosion, and fully sintered pads. The levers are drilled and milled, with only Modolo in white at top. These were truly the best of the best of single pivot brakes in the 80's and beyond. Super rare.
These look like they're almost new old stock take-offs. The only things that show they've been ridden are the pad material is just slightly worn and there's a small worn spot in the ano on one lever blade's side. Cables are NOS (I was told the brakes were set up with black cable housing and these were set aside). Completely show bike worthy.
