Ideale is the French equivilent to the English Brooks, and they've been around for nearly as long! This Type Record 80 model is likely from the 1970's or early 80's, and came stock on vintage road bikes such as Peugeot PX-10, Schwinn Paramount P13, etc. It's very similar in feel and looks to a Brooks B17. This was 2nd only to the Ideale mod 90 in the Ideale line.
Very good used condition, with a bit of that "vintage patina" type wear. The leather is nice and supple, with ZERO cracking, splits, hardness, or other age-type wear. It appears it's been taken care of very well, and has a fresh coat of Proofhide. The leather does have a few blemishes (white paint? near left-side logo, shallow gouge right side logo, which isn't through the top layer, etc). Rails, frame, rivets look great.
