Campagnolo Super Record 2-Bolt Fluted Seatpost: 27mm - 1970's - Alloy Ears - Powdercoated Black & Red (RARE)
This is a genuine 1st or 2nd generation Super Record seatpost from the 1970's or maybe very early 1980's. It is distinguished from the much more common Nuovo Record two-pin seatpost with it's factory flutes, alloy clamp side ears, and different inscriptions. The size is engraved into both sides of the post, and the Campagnolo script is on both the front and the back. The 1973 catalog shows this exact post for the first time, with the Campy sun logo behind the Campagnolo script. This version does not seem to have been made in high numbers and some claim it's a pre-production thing.
The black powdercoat finish and red flutes were done aftermarket, by a bicycle industry lifer back in the 1980's. The fluting was done at the factory.
Great to excellent used condition. The finish has some mostly minor wear throughout. Clamp and hardware are in excellent shape. Bolts have zero corrosion. Not quite show condition as it sits.
