Bebop pedals were a thing in the 90's, and recently rereleased under new ownership (VP One). They are ultralight pedals, similar to Speedplay pedals as both have the binding mechanism in the cleat (opposed to in the pedal like most other pedal systems). With the Cr-Mo spindles, the pedals weigh in at 210g/pair, or 285g with cleats! Thats only 15 grams more than the much more expensive stainless steel model.
Benefits: Bebop's have 20 degrees of float, the most on the market. This is a blessing for bad knees, as it allows for more natural biomechanics. The stack height is super low at 11mm, resulting in a slightly lower saddle height and center of gravity (rounder pedaling circle, better balance). The bearings are sealed roller bearings (one side needle bearings, rolling against ball bearings on the other side) with NO bushings! This results in a long lasting bearing that's unlikely to develop play.
Condition: Excellent mechanical condition. Super smooth, perfect bearings w/zero play. Some very minor scratching on the tops of the platforms, where the shoes touch. Cleats/bolts are in excellent shape
