1970's Michelin Man Bibendum Bicycle Tires Cardboard Sign / Mobile: Bike Shop Advertising - Double Sided - 17.5" x 9" (NOS)
This rare piece of Michelin Man ephemera was issued to bike shops carrying Michelin tires in 1977. It was designed to be a mobile and hung from the attached line/hook, but it could also be hung as a sign from the top grommet. It is constructed of a stiff cardboard of sorts, with a glossy finish. It's well made. I am including the original issuing letter that was provided with this sign.
This would make a wonderful gift for vintage bicycle enthusiasts, Americana decoration lovers, antique collectors, and tire/rubber nuts. Or maybe, a gift for your local bike shop to display!
This sign is new, and it was never hung up in a shop. The shop I acquired it from told me it sat in their back room since the day they received it, and thus it is in mint condition. The only wear is one lower corner is creased/bent up a bit. There's slight patina on the colors from age.
