1960 Capo Sieger

Posted by Justin on

This lovely frame is hanging on my bedroom wall for now.  On a bike swap road trip, I stopped in a new-ish local bike shop in Albuquerque New Mexico.  They had an attic full of bikes and parts.  This was the only thing older than the 1980's though.  They only kept it around because of the sick badges.  It was in pretty poor shape when I picked it up for a scant $25.

Capo of Austria exported a VERY small number (less than 20 by some reports) of high quality lugged frames to California right around 1960.  The frame was originally white with red accents.  This one picked up a very nice antique patina that I could rub off, but I won't (it looks just too cool).  It came with most of the original parts, and once I find a nice set of high flange 27" period correct wheels I'll build it up.  It even came with a neat Ambrosio adjustable stem!  Uber rare Agrati crank and pedals.

The seattube badge (that's right Seat Tube Badge!) is a nickel plated mid-evil Knight in full battle dress...and a work of art.
