1939 Carlton Cycles Catalog: Last Catalog before the War-time Buyout! (29p)
Super obscure pre-war Carlton Cycles catalog straight from England! The company was bought out in late 1939 by D R O’Donovan, and production of the high end roadsters stopped. This catalog was from just before the buyout, as the catalog states the current owner of the company (Hon Charles Fitzroy) had been the owner since 1936.
The brochure is 29 pages long, and prominently features very intricate drawings of every model they offered that year. The inside of the back cover is a pretty cool full page advertisement for Sturmey Archer hubs!
This would make a lovely holiday gift for the British racing bicycle fan!
Excellent condition! The paper is overall in lovely shape and not deteriorating. It's a pretty thick stock for 1930's advertising material. The only real thing to note is the very first page has a small square cut out (someone thought one of the lugs was really cool!). Edges are crisp, only very slight yellowing. A worthy collector's item.
